🌊 Welcome to my life in Crescent City 🌊
Hi! I’m beachgirl84. I moved up here a few years ago and fell in love with the fog, the ocean, and the quiet. This is my little corner of the web 💕
November 13, 2004 — Game night soon! 🎲
I’m so excited!! Tomorrow I’m starting a new D&D campaign with my friends — first one I’ve ever actually stuck with lol. It’s the only time lately I really get to see everyone, so I’ve been looking forward to it all week. I even made snacks and painted some little figures! Our DM (you know who 😳) came up with the idea to try this old module Raven found in a thrift box — she says it’s rare. It’s called something like The Ends? Sounds spooky, right? But I trust him to make it fun! Maybe a little crush motivation helps me show up on time, haha.
November 15, 2004 — Session one!
Our first night playing went sooo long! I rolled my first natural 20 and everyone cheered. The module really is weird though. The DM said “some pages were missing” but it still worked out. I dreamed about cliffs that night lol.
November 17, 2004 — Strange night
Second session! I couldn’t stop laughing when my character fell in the pit trap again. DM looked so serious though. He said “don’t roll yet” but nobody had thrown dice?? I guess he was joking. Anyway, snacks turned out great lol.
November 19, 2004 — Wind outside 🌬️
Wind kept hitting the windows while we played. The power blinked twice. Everyone said it added atmosphere haha. Raven said the text on the module cover looked different when she opened it again, like darker ink. Maybe her lamp was dying.
November 22, 2004 — Thanksgiving plans 🦃
No post-game this week cause everyone’s busy! I might walk to the beach early Thursday. I keep thinking about the sound the DM made for the ocean in the last session—like real waves. I can almost still hear it when I try to sleep.
December 1, 2004 — from retro_raven
Hey everyone, it’s Raven. I know this is weird but I wanted to update here.
Nobody’s heard from beachgirl since the morning of Nov 23. She told me she was going to watch the sunrise at Pebble Beach. Her car was still there but that’s all.
We’ve talked with her parents and the police are searching.
I just wanted to leave this here in case anyone saw her or knows something.
November 11, 2004 — Beach picnic 🧺
Took a little picnic down by the rocks. I swear I could hear kids laughing even though no one was around (probably echoing from the pier!). I made tuna sandwiches and forgot the mayo, lol classic me. The wind kept moving my blanket but it was still a nice day.
November 9, 2004 — Grocery day 🛒
I went to Safeway and got oranges, milk, and some magazines. The cashier looked like someone from school but older, which is funny because I moved here so long ago. I told him “see you tomorrow” but I didn’t mean to say that. I don’t know why I said that.
November 6, 2004 — My new candle 🕯️
I found a cinnamon candle at the thrift shop, burned it all night and dreamed about the tide coming in through my window. It smelled just like the ocean. Mom said I should stop lighting candles but she says that about everything. Anyway it’s almost gone now.
November 5, 2004 — Dream journal entry 🌙
Dreamt that I was walking under the pier again but it wasn’t made of wood this time. It was all mirrors, and I could see myself walking beside me. When I woke up, Dad was already watching the news really loud so I wrote it down fast before I forgot.
November 4, 2004 — Coffee and chores ☕
Nothing major today, just coffee and laundry. Dad wanted to argue again, lol! But I just turned up the radio and pretended I was back by the water. Sometimes that works. The fog burned off around noon and it was so pretty outside I almost forgot everything else. Might bake cookies later.
November 3, 2004 — Favorite things list ✨
Just for fun! My favorite color is seafoam, my favorite smell is fog (yes it has a smell), my favorite sound is the kettle starting to sing. Favorite memory: Dad teaching me to skip stones when I was little before he stopped going outside. haha anyway goodnight.
October 31, 2004 — Halloween on the coast 🎃
No trick-or-treaters this year (not many kids nearby). Mom said it’s “because people know better than to bother us,” which made me laugh but not really in a good way. I still lit my pumpkin candle and watched the fog roll past the window. Felt kind of magical actually.
October 28, 2004 — Morning walks ☕️
The seagulls were already up when I went for my walk today! The tide was so high it almost reached the driftwood line. I swear I saw dolphins far out but it might’ve been the light playing tricks. I can’t believe November’s almost here!
October 19, 2004 — Foggy again 😅
Some people complain but I love the fog. It makes the whole world soft, like a watercolor painting. My neighbor said she can hear the foghorn in her sleep — I think I can too, sometimes.
October 7, 2004 — New shells 🐚
Found some really pretty shells this morning near Pebble Beach. I’ll post photos once I figure out how lol. They’re pale pink with spiral patterns, almost like tiny eyes. Weird huh? Still super cute.
